We had alot of players on waiting lists and even when we told them the chance was slim to get a roster spot many chose to stay on it and hope for the best. Last season we had enough kids wanting to play for us to make two teams on every level maxed out on both. We had people trying to pay full registration and fund raiser, volunteering to work gate and concessions just to get a leg up on the waiting list. The next thing we did was set clear guideline for our waiting list procedures TYFA had none and to my knowledge still don't Our procedures were: Before I do I want to let you know why the email was written in the first place and what it actually meant. First and foremost we wanted to insure we offered our returners the first chance to sign up many have been with us for 3,4 5 years and we extended this to all returners big, small, fast, slow. No one from TYFA called us and inquired about the email, no one came to our registrations, no one asked to see our paperwork, no one asked to see our waiting lists, no one asked to speak with our parents on rosters or waiting lists, no one asked to speak with our Coaches. With that said I will post the email. Next we stated that NO ONE on a waiting list would be allowed to pay registration or fund raiser or get issued equipment until they had moved into an actual roster spot.

We maintained a waiting list and we had no set limit and neither did TYFA. It is all conditioning stepovers, ladders, hills, cones, footwork etc. Limit the amount on each level for to a MAX of We also encouraged our Coaches to contact "impact" players to insure they still wanted to play. First and foremost we wanted to insure we offered our returners the first chance to sign up many have been with us for 3,4 5 years and we extended this to all returners big, small, fast, slow. We contacted them via phone, email, text and in person. We also have a basketball league with plus kids and we have a track team with about kids. Next we stated that NO ONE on a waiting list would be allowed to pay registration or fund raiser or get issued equipment until they had moved into an actual roster spot. We have kids who never leave and come back year in and out and we are inundated with kids who want to play for us. I will post the exact email for your review. No one from TYFA called us and inquired about the email, no one came to our registrations, no one asked to see our paperwork, no one asked to see our waiting lists, no one asked to speak with our parents on rosters or waiting lists, no one asked to speak with our Coaches. I will admit men suck at it so we turned all paperwork over to our Cheer Director who by the way was solicited by TYFA to come and be a Board member because her paperwork was so organized. We were un-prepared and it was really a huge mess. This was done to insure that we were neat and accurate and one person could tell any coach were they stood in regards to open slots. Well this year we decided to have some ground rules. With that said I will post the email. Before I do I want to let you know why the email was written in the first place and what it actually meant. The next thing we did was set clear guideline for our waiting list procedures TYFA had none and to my knowledge still don't Our procedures were: We had alot of players on waiting lists and even when we told them the chance was slim to get a roster spot many chose to stay on it and hope for the best. We said this because for example with our Rookie team which was last years midgets and last years 8yr old rookies we had 44 players right off the bat , so be sure you have a spot We had people trying to pay full registration and fund raiser, volunteering to work gate and concessions just to get a leg up on the waiting list. Last we also encouraged our coaches to insure before they put anyone on the Roster they insured he had a "spot" meaning get with our cheer director who is handling all of the rosters, payments and registration paperwork and see if you even have any open spots before you commit to anyone. Last season we had enough kids wanting to play for us to make two teams on every level maxed out on both. Our next issue was keeping neat accurate paperwork. Posts 97 I know some of you have heard about the infamous email that was sent not to TYFA as they claim but to the Jr.
